WOW! Not sure exact how to write this one up but here I go. Hubbard Creek is the toughest conditions that Lubbock Lip Rippers have been faced with. When I say conditions I mean both weather and fishing conditions. Sat was cold and windy, and Hubbard was so dirty that you could see coon tracks going across it! We had a total of 14 anglers attend. When the scales closed on Sat we realized exactly how tough the fishing was. As a club we only weighed in 5 fish total for 19+ lbs. Cale Sanders had two of those fish that totaled out at 12.57 lbs, with a big bass of 7.87. Second was Wes Medford with 1 fish that went 3.13 and third was Kevin Hughes with 1 fish that went 2.32 lbs. As Sunday came around we were meet at the Ramp with 25-30 mph winds right into the only ramp on the lake. Not to mention this ramp was almost impossible to load up on with no wind now try to do this with 2-3ft rollers coming over it! As a club we decided to go ahead and call it a day due to the conditions that we would have faced with weather and ramp conditions. I really think we made a good decision to keep people safe and I am sure that we kept our equipement safe as well. We would have definately torn something up!
So with that said we took the Day one totals and that was our Final Results. We took the Day 2 Daily Double money and we are going to carry it over to Oak Creek! So we should have some good DD money at Oak! Here are the Day Double Results:
Day 1 Total - Cale Sanders 12.57 lbs
Day 1 Big Bass - Cale Sanders 7.87 lbs
Now to the best part! Ole Baloney..... Granted I think that Hubbard Creek is the front runner for this prize but Kent Beverly went ahead and came from behind and took the prize! Here is the story. Sat about 2 oclock or so the sky is starting to turn a nasty black and you can see a turd floater headed right for us. Right before I decide I better get going back to the ramp due to rain and lightning my phone rings! Its Kent and he states that he is completely dead and nothing will start or work. So I head all the way from the ramp to almost the bridge to find him and help him out. I get there and he is right nothing will start...We jump a couple different batteries and nothing. Then all of a sudden it starts right up! Well I guess the On/Off swith / Kill switch was in the off position and actually nothing was wrong! So for this my friend you get to hang out with Ole Baloney until Oak! Like always we expect a picture to make sure that you are not neglecting her and making sure she is not lonely! Here is the picture of Nate with with time with Ole Baloney! If you have not seen it yet you have to check out the Lubbock Lip Rippers Harlem Shake Video that was done in the parking lot at Hubbard. At first I thought it was crazy idea but everytime I watch it I crack up! Click Below and it is also in our Video Tab!

Oak Creek is next and I hope we have a great turn out and hopefully the fishing will be better, I have a sneaky suspision that it will be better than Hubbard! See you guys soon!
I appologize for this being so late!
Welcome to the Lubbock Lip Rippers Home page. We are small local club that is ideal for everyone. If you are a seasoned angler or just want to start and learn we are the place to be. We are affliated with FLW outdoors which gives our local anglers the lifelong dream to make fishing a living, or if you just like the commerodery of a small club and enjoy the friendly competion please check us out.
As we make a very needed transition from BASS to the FLW there are some changes that will take place but all for the better as you will see. For the most part the idea of everything is the same but there are some small details that make a huge difference. For example there are 2 State Tournaments one is strickly a Team Club Top 6 tournament. This gets rid of the idea of a State Team tournament that also has individual awards that have the oppurtunity to move on. No more choosing your team or yourself. The Second of these tournaments is the State Qualifier which is where you have the oppurtunity to move on to Divisionals and ultimately the $1 Million dollar BFL All-American and the $2 Million dollar Forrest L. Wood Cup. Not to mention if you win the Federation National Championship it will earn you the Living the Dream Package which qualifies you to be eligible to fish the FLW Tour + pays your entry fees + provide you with the use of a wrapped Ranger boat and Chevy Truck + travel stipends for each event . There are several other perks that I will not go over, I am pretty sure you guys are smart enough to see.
